This park is operated by the Township Park Commission, and charges a nominal fee for campsites. Discounts are available for longer stays. Located on the Buttersville Peninsula along the Lake Michigan coastline, Buttersville Park remains open to foot traffic all year. The vehicle gate is usually closed the first part of November or at the time of the first snowfall.  At that time, the park is no longer staffed until the following spring.  Please note that campsites are available on a  first-come-first-served basis, during the regular season -- NO CAMPSITE RESERVATIONS ARE ACCEPTED.  For other information about the park,  please call the campground at 231.843.2114, or the Township Office at 231.845.1277.

Guests are asked to remember that campsites are available on a  first-come, first-served basis; no campsite reservations are accepted.

Fresh water is available at the campground. Flush toilets and a shower facility are also part of the park’s services.  All campsites have electricity, a picnic table, and a fire ring.  The campground is dog-friendly -- but you need to keep your pooch under control.  Leashed at all times, not left alone, clean up after him/her, and no nuisance barking or the rangers can send all of you packing.  If you have more questions about Buttersville Park, first click here to read the description of the Park.  Check out the buttons above to see (and even print!) a map of the campground -- but keep in mind there are lots more trees than we show on our little map.  If we sketched all of them in, you wouldn't be able to see the campground!  The other button will show you more campground photos.  If you still have questions, please call the Park office at 231.843.2114.
