NOTICE OF FIRST READING
PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 147 

First reading was conducted on September 8, 2020, for proposed Ordinance No. 147, an ordinance to amend Chapter 109, Zoning, of the Pere Marquette Charter Township Code of Ordinances by adding language regarding the number of detached accessory buildings permitted in the R-1 and R-2 zoning districts; by revising the requirements for adding sidewalks to nonconforming lots; and by providing for the effective date of this amending ordinance.

Second reading and consideration of adoption of proposed Ordinance No. 147 is scheduled for October 13, 2020, during a regular meeting of the Pere Marquette Charter Township Board to be held at 6:30 p.m. at 1699 S. Pere Marquette Highway, Ludington, MI  49431.

Notice of additional regular meeting to the 2020 Zoning Board of Appeals schedule.

                                                                         Planning Commission

The Pere Marquette Charter Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Charter Township Hall, 1699 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, MI in order to review an application for an amendment to an approved site condominium development per Article 25, Section 109-25.08, of the Pere Marquette Charter Township Zoning Ordinance.  The application was submitted by Gibson Custom Homes on behalf of Sunset Beach at Ludington, LLC for proposed changes to the approved site condominium units (1-5) located at 6635 - 6657 Sunset Beach Circle, parcel numbers 53010-730-000-001-00; 53010-730-000-002-00; 53010-730-000-003-00; 53010-730-000-004-00; and 53010-730-000-005-00.  The changes are being requested due to bluff erosion along the Lake Michigan shoreline and the need to relocate an existing residential structure.

The Pere Marquette Charter Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Township Hall, 1699 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, MI.  The Board will hear a request from Robert Smallwood per Article 31, Section 109-31.03 Nonconforming buildings, Item (c.) of the Zoning Ordinance for Unit #2 within the Linlook Cottages Cooperative at 995 N. Lakeshore Drive, parcel number 53010-600-004-005-02.  The request is to enlarge an existing nonconforming structure by constructing an addition (8' x 18') which is less than fifty percent of the current gross square footage.  The proposed addition will be built on an existing concrete patio slab and will not encroach into any required yard setbacks.
