Special Meeting Notice
Pere Marquette Charter Township

The Pere Marquette Charter Township Board of Trustees will meet in special session on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall, 400 S. Harrison St., Ludington, MI 49431.  The purpose of this meeting will be to hear a presentation from Susan Wenzlick regarding Brownfield Authorities, leading to a discussion by all entities about shared board and priorities for each community.  This meeting will be conducted jointly with the City of Ludington City Council, City of Scottville Commissioners and the Mason County Board of Commissioners.

A quorum of the Pere Marquette Charter Township Board of Trustees has been invited to attend this presentation on Brownfield Authorities and discussion regarding priorities, rules and members for a shared Board may occur among members of the Township Board and others invited to the presentation.  This notice is given to inform the public of the foregoing pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.

NOTICE OF FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 109, ARTICLE 28 OF THE
PERE MARQUETTE CHARTER TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES

 PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 154

Please take notice that on May 10, 2022, the Township Board of Pere Marquette Charter Township conducted the First Reading of Proposed Ordinance No. 154, which amends the Pere Marquette Charter Township Zoning Ordinance to update regulations pertaining to temporary signs and temporary sign events, in order to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of the residents and visitors of Pere Marquette Charter Township.

The Ordinance has the following sections and catch lines: Section 1: Amendment to Article 28, Section 109-28.05; Section 2: Amendment to Article 28, Section 109-28.09; Section 3: Amendment to Article 28, Section 109-28.11; Section 4: Amendment to Article 28, Section 109-28.12; Section 5: Severability; Section 6: Repeal; and Section 7: Effective Date. A true copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection and may be obtained at the Pere Marquette Charter Township Offices and is published on the Township’s website at www.pmtwp.org

Second reading and consideration of adoption of proposed Ordinance No. 154 is scheduled for June 14, 2022 during a regular meeting of the Pere Marquette Charter Township Board to be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Charter Township offices, located at 1699 South Pere Marquette Highway, Ludington, MI 49431.

NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2022
PERE MARQUETTE CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN

 TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF PERE MARQUETTE CHARTER TOWNSHIP:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Pere Marquette Charter Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at www.mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com.

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 18, 2022.

After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the Pere Marquette Charter Township Clerk’s office, located at 1699 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, MI 49431 at the following times:

  • Regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Election Day, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Persons with special needs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the clerk’s office.
