Board of Review
The Pere Marquette Township Board of Review is a citizen committee created through Michigan's General Property Tax Act (206 of 1893). It's part of the system of checks and balances of the Assessor's office for the purpose of ascertaining that property has been uniformly assessed (MCL 211.28 -211.33). Members are selected by the Township Supervisor and appointed by the Township Board. Members serve 2-year terms and all members' terms run concurrently.

Typical duties of the Board of Review include:
- Ensure Uniform Assessment of Real and Personal Property in the Township
- Consider Taxpayer Petitions Regarding Property Values
- Correct Errors and/or Omissions
- Consider Requests for Tax Exemptions
- Meet State Standards in Record-keeping Compliance
