Planning Commission

The Pere Marquette Township Planning Commission is the body created through the authority of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (33 of 2008).  Members are selected for 3-year staggered terms by the Township Supervisor, and appointed by the Township Board.

The Planning Enabling Act charges the Planning Commission with responsibility for:

  • Development of the Zoning Ordinance
  • Reviewing proposed developments, special use permits, and rezoning applications
  • Preparation, adoption, amendment of a Master Plan
  • Various recommendations to the Township Board
Meetings:  Regular meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Townhall.  Public welcome.  Please check back for last minute schedule changes that may occur.
