Zoning Board of Appeals

The Pere Marquette Township Zoning Board of Appeals is the body created through the authority of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (110 of 2006).    Members are selected for 3-year staggered terms by the Township Supervisor, and appointed by the Township Board.

The Zoning Enabling Act charges the Zoning Board of Appeals with responsibility for:

  • Considering Requests for Variances of the Zoning Ordinance
  • Notice and Notification Compliance Regarding Variance Requests
  • Consulting on Land Uses within the Township
  • Monitoring Non-conforming Uses
  • Making Recommendations to the Township Board
Meetings:  Regular meetings are held quarterly on the first Wednesday of March, June, September, and December beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Hall. Occasionally, additional regular meetings as well as special meetings are called, and those will be posted.   Posted 2021 Meeting Schedule of the ZBA.
