Pere Marquette Township, located at 1040 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., is served by approximately twenty volunteer firefighters, some of whom are additionally qualified as Medical First Responders. Some are further certified as Emergency Medical Technicians. Typical duties of the Department include:

- Responding to fires, medical emergencies, and traffic accidents
- Protecting life and property at an emergency scene
- Lending assistance as requested in neighboring jurisdictions
- Assisting with traffic control
- Attending continuing education classes and maintaining certifications
- Providing educational activities coordinated with schools and National Fire Safety days
- Maintaining membership in the Western Mason County Fire District Authority
